CASA DE DOS

Organizarse, aunque suene sencillo es una de las cosas que mas nos cuesta hacer, muchas veces por que nos da pereza comenzar o simplemente por que no sabemos como hacerlo, que necesitamos o donde ir. Por ello la semana pasada la hicimos una semana de organización donde visitamos varias tiendas, en R.D., que venden elementos de organización; y donde utilizamos varios elementos no diseñados para organizar, como módulos que nos ayudaran a colocar las cosas en su lugar y contenerlas (@thehomeedit nos ha enseñado mucho!)

En el post de hoy te hablare de esas ideas que puedes utilizar para organizarte con elementos que muchas veces no consideramos empezando por una sencilla bandeja y terminando por un archivo de documentos.

Bandejas, cajas y canastas decorativas:

Aunque muchos quizás ya han utilizado estos elementos para organizarse, muchos lo pasan desapercibido y es que, a la hora de pensar en una bandeja, lo ultimo que pasa por nuestra mente es organización, pero si, las bandejas, así como las cajas y canastas ayudan a contener los elementos en una zona en específico.  

Organizing, even if it sounds simple, is one of the things that is most difficult for us to do, some times because we are lazy to start or simply because we do not know how to do it, what we need or where to go. For this reason, last week we did an organization week where we visited several stores, that sell organizational elements and we use various elements, not designed to organize, as modules that will help us put things in their place and contain them (@thehomeedit has taught us a lot!)

In today’s post I will talk about those ideas that you can use to organize yourself with elements that many times we do not consider, starting with a simple tray and ending with a document file.

Decorative trays, boxes and baskets:

Although many may have already used these elements to organize themselves, some go unnoticed and, when it comes to thinking about a tray, the last thing that goes through our mind is organization, but yes, the trays, as well as the boxes and baskets help to contain the elements in a specific area.

Las bandejas son elementos excelentes para colocar piezas sobre superficies como el tocador, superficies de closets y de más. Si ya tienes una en casa, perfecto, si tiene las dimensiones precisas no dudes en utilizarla pues hará una gran diferencia en tu organización diaria.

Las cajas y canastas son excelentes para guardar piezas que no deben estar a la vista de una forma mas decorativa, es recomendable que, si estas tienen tapa o se localizaran en una zona de no muy fácil alcance, colocarle un identificador en la parte frontal de la caja o canasta.

Trays are great for placing items on surfaces like the dressers, closets, and more. If you already have one at home, perfect, if it has the precise dimensions do not hesitate to use it as it will make a big difference in your daily organization.

The boxes and baskets are excellent for storing pieces that should not be visible in a more decorative way, it is recommended that, if these have a lid or are located in an area not very easy to reach, place an identifier on the front of the the box or basket.

Elementos diseñados para otros usos:

Cuando se habla de organizar nuestra mente va directo a elementos diseñados para tal y cual zona de la casa a organizar, por ejemplo, si vas a organizar tu refrigerador lo primero que viene a la mente es buscar piezas diseñadas para ello y no me tomes a mal, eso es lo correcto, pero ¿qué sucede si debes trabajar con lo que tienes en casa o si sencillamente necesitas limitarte a un presupuesto? ¡Pues aquí mi recomendación, utiliza elementos diseñados para otros usos!

En nuestro caso necesitábamos organizar tres zonas y teníamos un presupuesto limitado. La primera era bajo el lavabo, allí almacenamos envases para reciclar, esponjas de lavar platos y paños para usos múltiples. No queríamos tener todo junto en un mismo envase pues eran elementos diferentes que requerían de especificaciones distintas. ¿Nuestra solución? ¡Utilizamos los elementos de Ikea diseñados para enjuagar! Pues no solo estaban económicos, también tenían una profundidad excelente para almacenar los envases y vienen en diferentes tamaños.

Elements designed for other uses:

When talking about organizing our mind goes directly to elements designed for such, for example, if you are going to organize your refrigerator, the first thing that comes to mind is to look for pieces designed for it and, don’t take me to wrong way, that’s the right thing to do, but what if you have to work with what you have at home or if you simply need to stick to a budget? Well here my recommendation, use elements designed for other uses!

In our case we needed to organize three zones and we had a limited budget. The first was under the sink, there we stored recyclable containers, sponges for washing dishes and cloths for multiple uses. We did not want to have everything together in the same container because they were different elements that required different specifications. Our solution? We use the Ikea items designed to rinse dishes! Well, they were not only inexpensive, they also had an excellent depth to store the containers and they come in different sizes.

La otra zona para organizar era el closet de “ropa blanca” pues queríamos separar las toallas de mano de las toallas para uso normal y las alfombras de piso de baño, así que recurrimos a una pieza del sistema de closets Algot de Ikea, unas canastas de alambre que no solo estaban dentro de nuestro presupuesto, también eran excelentes por sus dimensiones ya que vienen rectangulares para las toallas de mano y cuadradas para las toallas normales; y por qué permitía ver el interior de las canastas, aunque esto implica tener las toallas bien dobladas (hola! @mariekondo).

The other area to organize was the linen closet as we wanted to separate the hand towels from the towels for normal use and the bathroom floor rugs, so we used a piece from the Ikea Algot closet system, they are baskets made of wire that were not only within our budget, they were also excellent for their dimensions as they come rectangular for hand towels and square for normal towels; and it also allowed to see the inside of the baskets, although this implies having the towels well folded (hello! @mariekondo).

Por ultimo la zona mas temida, bajo el lavamanos del baño. Si, sabes que zona es, la que no tenemos ni idea de como organizar y sencillamente arrojamos todo dentro de una canasta o solo lo colocamos ahí y listo, cerramos las puertas y puff, desapareció. Admito que es una zona complicada y que requiere de medir (aunque todo lo demás también) con mucha precisión por el tema de las tuberías. 

¿Nuestra solución? ¡Los archivos de metal de Ikea! ¿Me crees que solo cuestan 990 pesos dominicanos? Pues sí, y tienen gavetas y son tan angostos que caben perfecto en el espacio.

Finally the most feared area, under the bathroom sink. Yes, you know what area it is, the one that we have no idea how to organize and we simply throw everything into a basket or we just place it there and voila, we close the doors and puff, it disappeared. I admit that it is a complicated area and that it requires measuring very precisely due to the issue with the pipes (although we recommend that everything else should be measure).

Our solution? The Ikea metal filer! And can you believe they cost under 25 bucks? Yes, and they have drawers and are so narrow that they fit perfectly in the space.
