Cuando la zonificación de tu apartamento o casa responde a un sistema separado donde podrás encontrar el comedor apartado de la sala o la cocina distanciada del comedor, casi siempre tendrás paredes de transición que no son mas paredes que no tienen ventanas y que se encuentran en el trayecto de una zona a otra de tu vivienda.
Estas paredes, aunque no son incomodas para decorar (¡hola espejo enorme!) tienden a terminar decoradas de la misma manera lo cual hace monótona toda la decoración de la casa, pero claro está, todo depende de los gustos. En nuestro caso tenemos una pared de transición que va de la cocina al comedor, pero es el punto foca cuando giras de la sala a la cocina por lo que era mas que necesario (para nosotros) hacer que ese espacio fuera visualmente agradable y entretenido y así crear una “viñeta”.
Aunque no mentiré que busque miles de ideas en Pinterest, esta fue la imagen que más me motivo.
When the zoning of your apartment or house responds to a separate system where you can find the dining room away from the living room or the kitchen away from the dining room, you will almost always have transitional walls that are not more than walls that do not have windows and that are in the journey from one area of your home to another.
These walls, although they are not uncomfortable to decorate (hello, huge mirror!) tend to end up decorated in the same way which makes all the decoration of the house monotonous, but of course, it all depends on taste. In our case we have a transition wall that goes from the kitchen to the dining room, but it is the focal point when you turn from the living room to the kitchen, so it was more than necessary (for us) to make that space visually pleasant and entertaining and create a «vignette».
Although I will not lie that I search thousands of ideas on Pinterest, this was the image that motivated me the most.

La idea y su ejecución:
Aunque no les miento siempre he querido un espejo «estilo francés», pero esta no era la mejor zona para colocarlo por su cercanía a la cocina y el resplandor que produce, así que quedábamos en dos opciones, colocar un solo elemento o “jugar” con el espacio y pues como buenos en la materia, nos fuimos por la opción más difícil (jajaja) crear un elemento visual compuesto de 9 piezas, o mejor dicho un gallery wall lineal.
The idea and its execution:
Although I won’t lie, I’ve always wanted a French-style mirror, this was not the best area to place in that wall due to its proximity to the kitchen and the flare it will create, so we had two options, place a single element or «play» with the space and well, as good as we are in the matter, we went for the most difficult option (Hahaha) to create a visual element composed of 9 pieces, or in other words a linear gallery wall.

¿Como la llevamos a cabo?, pues iniciamos con medir el espacio disponible en su totalidad (ancho por alto), para luego medir el área que ocupaba el teléfono de acceso sobre la pared (también el ancho por el alto) y tomar el ancho de este como el distanciamiento horizontal entre cada marco de 9″ por 11″. Luego el distanciamiento vertical se hizo proporcional (o al ojo), creamos una plantilla y la colocamos en la pared previo a martillar para cualquier modificación.
How do we carry it out? Well, we start by measuring the available space in its entirety (width by height), to then measure the area occupied by the access phone on the wall (also the width by the height) and take the width of this as the horizontal distance between each 9″ by 11″ frames. Then the vertical distance was made proportional (or to the eye), we created a template and placed it on the wall prior to hammering for any modification

Ya teníamos la ubicación, ahora, ¿qué colocaríamos en los marcos? Pues, aunque el arte de Josh Young me encanta, y la idea de colocar imágenes familiares nos parece muy acogedora, quisimos hacer algo que nos identificara y que mas que bocetos de estudio de forma y profundidad hechos por nosotros!
We already had the location, now what would we put in the frames? Well, although I love Josh Young art, and the idea of placing family images seems very welcoming, we wanted to do something that would identify us and what more than study sketches of form and depth made by us!
