CASA DE DOS

Soñar despierta, imaginarme como las cosas podrían ser, es uno de mis pasatiempos favoritos, claro después de escribir, no solo por que me ayuda desarrollar mi lado creativo (que lo necesito constantemente) también por que me ayuda a entender la funcionalidad de las cosas en el nivel de la imaginación. 

Y es así que entre soñar y soñar no me puedo creer que ya nuestra sala esta como siempre la imaginamos, desde aquel momento es que estaba vacía y me senté a soñar la disposición del mobiliario y la decoración. Y aunque lo hicimos en etapas pero nos ideamos este mood board y nos presupuestamos con las ideas de este post, verlo todo completo me hace olvidar la espera.

Daydreaming, imagining how things could be, is one of my favorite hobbies, of course after writing, not only because it helps me develop my creative side (which I constantly need) but also because it helps me understand the functionality of things on the level of imagination.

And so between dreaming and dreaming, I can’t believe that our livingroom is as we always imagine it, from that moment it was empty and I sat down to dream about the arrangement of the furniture and the decoration. And although we did it in stages based on this mood board, and we budgeted with the ideas of this post, seeing it all complete makes me forget the wait.

Aunque en casa existe una mezcla de estilos nuestra base siempre ha sido el mid-century modern no solo por la calidez que trae con su modernismo, también por que es un estilo “limpio” en cuanto a las lineas en el mobiliario y el diseño y por que el uso de color es audaz y atrevido. 

Para integrar poco a poco este estilo, dividimos la adecuación en tres etapas. La primera consistía en amoblar con elementos que fueran del estilo base  como lo fue nuestro sofa y luego agregar detalles decorativos que fueran de nuestro agrado. 

Although at home there is a mixture of styles, our base has always been the mid-century modern not only because of the warmth it brings with its modernism, but also because it is a “clean” style in terms of the lines in furniture and design and the use of color is bold and daring.

To gradually integrate this style, we divide the adaptation into three stages. The first consisted of furnishing with elements that were of the base style like our sofa, and then adding decorative details that were to our liking.

La segunda etapa consistió en agregar este color a la pared de fondo, viendo la sala desde la puerta de acceso, que también es la pared mas larga de la sala y sobre la cual reposa el mueble mas grande (5 asientos). Esto hizo que se vira mas profunda y a la vez mucho mas calida.

The second stage consisted of adding this color to the back wall (link to the painting), viewing the room from the access door, which is also the longest wall in the livingroom and on which the largest piece of furniture rests (5 seating). This made it turn deeper and at the same time much warmer.

La tercera etapa fue la mas extrema y debimos presupuestarnos y ahorrar por varios meses a fin de poder concretarla pues se encontraba en las metas de ese año, como te mostré en este post, y consistió en integrar el balcón (el cual no usábamos) al area de la sala, haciendo que se ampliara en todos los sentidos y permitiera que mas personas cupieran en ella. 

The third stage was the most extreme and we had to budget and save for several months in order to be able to achieve it because it was in the goals of that year, like i showed in this post, and it consisted of integrating the balcony (which we did not use) to the area of ​​the room, making it expand in every way and allow more people to fit in it

Lo que mas nos pareció increíble fue que al momento de elegir el nuevo mueble, con medidas del espacio en mano, pudimos encontrar uno, el KLIPPAN de Ikea y darle un toque ecléctico al cambiarles las patas y eventualmente el cover por este que me encanta! 

What we found most incredible was that when choosing the new furniture, with measurements of the space in hand, we were able to find one, the KLIPPAN from Ikea and give it an eclectic touch by changing the legs and eventually the cover for this one i love.

Aunque aun me quedan muchos detalles decorativos por agregar como cambiar el tope de la mesa del centro, hacer un unos cambios en la pared del lateral de la tele como te conte en este post y sobre todo agregar un árbol o planta alta artificial a la esquina, sueño con esta belleza de árbol; veo la sala ahora y la recuerdo antes y siento que hemos logrado un gran avance en nuestro hogar, que nos tomamos un buen tiempo, si, pero nada como la satisfacción de saber que poco a poco lo construimos.

Although I still have many decorative details to add, such as changing the top of the center table, making some changes to the wall on the side of the TV like i told you in this post and especially adding an artificial tree or tall plant to the corner, I dream about this beauty of a tree; I see the room now and I remember it before and I feel that we have achieved a great advance in our home, that took a good time, yes, but nothing like the satisfaction of knowing that we are building it little by little.
